Autobots, I'm in pursuit...Right....I've had it.
As in had enough.
If I see one more comment bashing Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, I am going to go Optimus on your OptimASS and rip your head in two...
I LOVED this movie.....it narrowly beat Star Trek as my favourite film of the year, and is quite simply one of the most awesome cinema experiences I've ever had. At the point of me writing this Journal Entry, ROTF has made nearly $380 Million - that's $380,000,000 - it is now the 10th most successful film of all time, beating LOTR: Return of the King into 11th place...so WHAT IS THE DEAL?!
It seems to me that most of the flak is coming from two groups - Dark Knight fanboys who just won't accept anything different, and the Transformers nerds who moan and groan that it has "ruined their childhood" and send frequent death threats to Michael Bay. Yes, the movie has plot holes - and the cartoon didn't? To be honest I didn't see any animation mistakes that screw around with which characters are where in ROTF...
I could rant for hours and hours about this.....in fact me and my best friend have done just that many times...
I am just growing sick and tired of these nerdy fans hating on anything new related to their obsessions. They don't seem to realise that both the original cartoon, and the new movies are NOT aimed at them, they are aimed primarily at children and young teenagers. I have seen so many comments from people saying that these blockbuster films should be "dark" and "thought provoking".....why? It's a movie based on a cartoon based on a series of toy robots - and they want it to NOT be simple, loud, colourful fun?
If they truely "get" Transformers, they would have been having fangasms along with everyone else at Optimus Prime's defiant battle against Megatron, Starscream and Grindor - not complaining about it.
The film has been massively successful, and yet people STILL rant about it being awful, and telling people not to waste their money on it - well to be honest, they're the ones wasting their money - by going into movies like this with closed minds and an actual desire to hate the film. But luckily that hasn't had an impact on the movie's success.
So here's to Michael Bay - quite simply, a cinematic genius...
You know at the end of the day, ACTION IS BAY
